The mission of North Star Jiu-Jitsu is to provide private and semi-private lessons guided by the five elements of Jiu-Jitsu: standing self-defense, striking, clinching and throwing techniques, grappling, and philosophy. At North Star, we recognize that Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art with a low retention rate among new students, to combat this we provide our students with clearly stated goals, patience, and the programs to follow their North Star. Though we teach self-defense, North Star Jiu-Jitsu is a competitive school that encourages participation in tournaments.
